Elizabeth lives in the midst of mallee scrub on a 75 acre property near Mannum in South Australia. Elizabeth works in an old shed which has been converted into a studio where she paints full time in order to keep up with her commitments to commissions and exhibitions.

During the late 60’s Elizabeth spent five years gaining an excellent academic training at art colleges in London. Elizabeth had her first exhibition with country Arts SA at the New Land Gallery in Adelaide in December 1996. Subsequently, her paintings were frequently selected for inclusion in exhibitions both in Adelaide and interstate. Country Arts SA has purchased her work for their collection and has also shown it in exhibitions travelling as far afield as Malaysia, while the Royal South Australian Society of Artists awarded her a Fellowship on the basis of merit in 1999.

Her paintings have been sold to public and private collections in Australia, America and Europe. Her work ranges between the differing demands of landscape, portraiture, still life and the nude.

After graduating in England, Jeremy worked as; a Town Planner in UK; a Geologist in East Africa and Australia; an Information Technology executive in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth; and as Director of IT consulting for Ernst & Young.

He studied for the Diploma of Art at the Claremont School of Art, in Perth.

In 1994 he held his first solo exhibition of Pilbara landscapes at Woodside Petroleum in Perth and in Karratha. Since then he has had highly successful annual exhibitions at galleries in Perth as well as exhibiting in Melbourne, Adelaide, Broome, Yallingup, Mandurah, Cairns and the USA.

Lloyd Rees, Van Gogh, Bonnard, Klimt, the Fauvres, Lucian Freud, Arthur Boyd, Sidney Nolan, John Perceval and Fred Williams have influenced Jeremy.

Despite a wide range of techniques and approaches to painting, Jeremy’s work is immediately recognisable due to his strong style. He works mainly in oil on canvas but also uses oil pastels and inks on paper.

Jeremy’s subject matter is mainly landscapes/townscapes, which capture the colours and contrasts of Australia, together with some nudes and flower studies.

From the pencil, india ink , he approached to acrylic and after to oil. His world is oneiric, surreal, a constant “daydream”, full of symbolisms and going to the knowledge of the man, of the thousand why of his existence, in cosmic sense, moral, intellectual. He expresses his painting in meditated way but suffered for his own intellectual tension, with lines and signs that look at the search of the subjective one “beautiful” aesthetical. He .studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in San Martino delle Scale (Palermo)and ,after, in that one of Palermo’s city.

I am a self taught artist residing on the North coast of NSW Australia. As most of my life has be spent around and in the ocean, my painting subjects are seascapes and waves. With a strong fascination of the Ocean I seek to express its movement, colours and moods and as a keen surfer much of my work is painted through the eyes of one.

My work is painted with a fascination of waves, I aim to capture the energy, colour and moods of the Ocean. My paintings are done with traditional oils.

I find that my work is often about a story, a feeling, or a place that I have been. So in a sense reflects all aspects of my personality, the things I like and have experienced. I try to convey the emotional context through imagery and colour and often find that my work says different things to different people, allowing the viewer to experience their own version of the ‘story’. I often like to ask people what they see.

I have become quite the amateur photographer (even if I do say so myself) and I take a lot of photographs when I am travelling with the pretence of coming home and making a work to evoke that memory. I have now travelled extensively and each trip whether it be across this great land of ours or overseas I find more inspiration and more things to discover and influence my work. I’m heavily influenced by the impressionist era; the Japanese masters – Hokusai and Hokkaido; 1920’s poster art particularly works by Leonetto Capiello and Roger Broders.

I currently live and work in Ultimo and I love being so close to our Harbour; most of all I find inspiration in the every day, the quirks and comings-and-goings of inner city life.
